Dear friends of the forum, I wanted to start the week by introducing you to this beautiful Morrison's from the 30s, built in the USA in ebonite jacketed with engraved gold plated metal, what was called a "Pendent Necklace" or also a lady's fountain pen.
The good external condition decided me to buy it, although the seller had already warned me that the nib did not write, it was without iridium and very badly treated.
I did not want to change it because it was the original nib, and although I am far from being a nib restorer -all a specialty- I decided to work very hard so that I could continue writing.
In this way and as you can see in the video, after placing a new ink bag and giving a good cleaning and polishing, the little fountain pen came to life...



I hope you liked it and have been able to forgive my bad handwriting ...

Cari amici del forum, volevo iniziare la settimana presentandovi questo bellissimo Morrison's degli anni '30, costruito negli USA in ebanite rivestito con placcatura in oro intagliato, quello che veniva chiamato "Pendent Necklace" o anche una piuma di signora.
Le sue buone condizioni esterne mi hanno convinto ad acquistarlo, nonostante il venditore mi avesse già avvisato che il pennino non scriveva, era senza iridio e trattato molto male.
Non ho voluto cambiarlo perché era il pennino originale, e anche se sono lontano dall'essere un restauratore di pennini -tutta una specialità- ho deciso di lavorare molto per poter continuare a scrivere.
In questo modo e come potete vedere nel video, dopo aver posizionato una nuova sacca di inchiostro e aver dato una buona pulizia e lucidatura, la piccola stilografica ha preso vita...

Cerco sempre di testare i pennini su una carta assorbente e non patinata (no coated) il che significa nelle peggiori condizioni. Se in quel caso il pennino non si blocca, non graffia e fornisce una normale quantità di inchiostro (il tratto non taglia e non sbava) sono soddisfatto... Anche se l'iridio non è necessario per scrivere, ed infatti il i primi pennini non ce l'avevano, garantisce una lunghissima vita del pennino senza usura apparente. Nel mio caso, dopo aver levigato il pennino a diverse angolazioni con carta vetrata 3000, credo di aver raggiunto una condizione di scrittura accettabile...!!! il pennino ha superato il test di firma...!!!
