Once an "acceptable" smoothing was achieved, we began a polishing process with 3500 grade emery paper that logically ends up sweeping the microns of gold or platinum mask that the nib had in some parts of its surface (there was very little of the mask left)...
We then start the degreasing process (enough with a cotton ball and 90% ethyl alcohol) and the masking process with a stained glass lacquer, to determine the surface where we will carry out the electrolytic deposition (unfortunately my pulse and my eyes no longer respond)...
We now prepare the electrolytic bath, with a 9-volt direct current source, a metal that can be pure copper, and a 50% hydrochloric acid solution (you have to wear glasses and gloves !!!) and leave 30 minutes in the process deposition of the metal where it was not masked (in our case the Parker arrow)...
Once the deposition is finished, the nib must be washed well to remove all traces of acid, and then we remove the lacquer with a good organic solvent (acetone or thinner) with a very interesting result...
